A much loved bit of urban folklore is the piece about engineers analyzing the bumblebee. They reviewed it’s construction: it’s wing span, weight, body mass, size, and strength. They came to the scientific conclusion that flight would be impossible for such a creature. The structure and strength of the bee’s wings, according to scientific reports, simply could not support it’s body.
